ชีวเคมีพื้นฐานเกี่ยวกับเคมีของชีวโมเลกุล เอนไซม์และโคเอนไซม์ ชีวพลังงานและกลยุทธของเมแทบอลิซึมและการควบคุม เมแทบอลิซึมของคาร์โบไฮเดรตและการสังเคราะห์แสง การขนส่งอิเล็กตรอนและออกซิเดทีฟฟอสโฟริเลชัน เมแทบอลิซึมของลิปิด เมแทบอลิซึมของสารประกอบไนโตรเจน การสังเคราะห์ดีเอ็นเอ และการแสดงออกของยีน ภาคปฏิบัติเป็นการทดลองเกี่ยวข้องกับการวิเคราะห์ชีวโมเลกุลและเมแทบอลิซึม
