  • General

    This class is a comprehensive course for environmental engineering practices with emphasis on computer skill. The course is designed for students who have good background in basic environmental engineering and computer. Classes are broken into 4 main topics, Ms-office, website development, enviroenmtnal problem application and GIS(Geographic information system). Students may learn the following software applications:

    - Office- Microsoft Office and OpenOffice

    - Website- Nvu, dreamweaver

    - Language- C++

    - GIS-AutoCAD

  • Topic 1

    Task I creating your web site

    This lesson is to help students learn to develop personal website containing information such as portfolio, hobbies, homework for the class and ect.. Student will do this through web research and the creation of a web page representing a profile of their choice. Program used is Nvu which is an open source (free for use).

  • Topic 2

    Task II Job Application

    This lesson is to prepare students for the real-world of work. Students practice writing resume for job application. Students are assigned to present in for job interview in front of the class. Classmates are assigned as interviewers from different section to asked questions and decide to accept the applicants to work in their organization.
    In addition, each student is required to create a shot movie about his/herself.

  • Topic 3

    Task III River Modeling

    This lesson includeslecture and practice on simple river mathematical modeling. Example of realwork in Phong River model is given. After students understand the river model,they will work on MSexcel and C++ tocalculate water quality in river.
