Warning! This will be a very long kratoo!


Inspired by the sun's size kratoo, I decided to post something about Illusion.
I think it's --- quite not academic --- but interesting.

The word Illusion (especially, optical illusion) is used for calling images that mislead you brain.
I'm not gonna go in vary detail about the brain's process because it will be very boring.
You can simply search information or images easily from the Internet.

Here I use some information from THIS SITE to separate kinds of illusion images.
I'll show some famous images instead of rambling on details. You can go to the site to read more.

A. Distortion : Play with lines

Dare you to believe the horizontal lines are parallel.

Do you think the ring is circle?

B. Perspective Illusions : Play with size

The same kind to the sun's size problem.
Object surrounded with small props will look bigger.

C. Irradiation illusions : Play comparison

Which circles in the middle is bigger?




D. Contrast illusions : Play with your eyes

Stare for a few seconds.

The blue light eats those pink dots.




Which side does it role?



Is it really still?



Black and white dots appear.


Do you believe block A and block B have the same color?

E. Impossible Figures

This usually appears in paintings or computer graphics because it's impossible in practical to have such figures.

Is a kind of play painters play with their paintings.

They paint graffiti (or painting) on the wall or street or pavement to create illusions pictures!
