Three definitions from scholars

1. CALL is any process in which a learner uses a computer and, as a result, improves his or her language (Beatty, 2003).

2. Hardisty and Windeatt (1989) states the CALL is a term used by teachers and students to describe the use of computers as part of a language course (p. 198).

3. A further definition for CALL can be found in the Wikipedia article and it says “Computer-assisted language learning (CALL) is an approach to language teaching and learning in which computer technology is used as an aid to the presentation, reinforcement and assessment of material to be learned, usually including a substantial interactive element” (Wikipedia, 2012).
